Executive Director

Brianne Grubbs Smith is the Executive Director of SummerHouse Beau Ridge’s Independent Living community. Born and raised in Mississippi, Brianne lives in Brandon with her husband Destin and their son Waylon. She enjoys traveling to the beach, spending time with her family, and hosting dinners for her friends. She has worked in the senior living industry for several years, playing an integral role at St. Dominic’s before joining the Beau Ridge family in 2017 as the Activities Director. This opportunity established a strong relationship with the residents. Her bright, bubbly personality crafted an exciting and engaging atmosphere that made SummerHouse Beau Ridge the place to be. Brianne then transitioned to the Business Office Manager position that gave her the experience of billing, managing staff and seeing the community through a different lens. After six strong years learning the community from top to bottom and sideways, Brianne was welcomed as the Executive Director in 2023. She is committed to making SummerHouse Beau Ridge the top Independent Living community in the area.

Joshua Lorenz, LPN

Executive Director of Memory Care

Joshua Lorenz, LPN, is the Executive Director of Memory Care at SummerHouse Beau Ridge, bringing over a decade of dedicated experience in senior living and a deep passion for person-centered dementia care. Josh began his career in 2011 as a nurse in assisted living, where he quickly advanced to Health and Wellness Director—a role that fueled his commitment to improving the lives of older adults.

In 2015, Josh joined SummerHouse Beau Ridge and discovered a special calling in working with residents affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related conditions. He became certified through Kim Warchol’s company, The Crisis Institute, receiving specialized training to better serve those living with dementia. Josh then used this knowledge to train and empower his team, helping them deliver compassionate, personalized care with confidence and understanding.

In 2021, Josh expanded his impact by founding an adult daycare center in Gluckstadt, where he supported families navigating the complexities of dementia care. After three meaningful years, he returned to SummerHouse Beau Ridge to serve as Executive Director, where he now continues to lead with heart, purpose, and innovation.

Outside of his professional role, Josh is a proud husband and father of two. His wife also works in healthcare, providing hospice care and end-of-life support to families. Josh enjoys spending quality time with his family and volunteering at his daycare. He is especially passionate about exploring innovative solutions like virtual reality to keep residents engaged, stimulated, and thriving.
