There’s a Lot to Love About Life Here in “The Magic City”
While Birmingham is perhaps best known for being the birthplace of the civil rights movement in America during the 1960’s, the city wears many hats today. Brimming with entertainment, arts and culture, outdoor recreation and world-class dining, it’s a place where diversity in every sense creates what’s become the city’s modern-day identity.
SummerHouse Grayson Valley is located about 15 miles northeast of downtown Birmingham in the Trussville, Leeds and Irondale portion of the city. Our area is loaded with history and is full of excellent dining, recreation and entertainment options for those who know where to look…and we most certainly do!
From our doorstep, it’s only minutes to Barber Motorsports Park, a major international raceway which plays home to the Honda Grand Prix of Alabama on the Formula 1 circuit as well as a host of other exciting events throughout the year. Next door to that is the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, which houses the largest private motorcycle collection in the world.
Non-gearheads can try their luck at the Birmingham Race Course Casino and even tour the global broadcast headquarters of Eternal World Television Network, which is also located here in our neck of the woods.
Birmingham is known for being the “Dinner Table of the South,” and our area is no exception. The Irondale Café is world-famous for appearing in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes and has been a staple of our local community for generations. A bevy of locally-owned burger and signature Southern BBQ joints also await those going in search of the biggest and best around.
For shopaholics, the Outlet Shops of Grand River provide a great venue for girls’ days, lunch dates and some much-needed retail therapy…and that’s just some of what awaits in our corner of Birmingham!
Venture into the city itself and it’s like waking up a whole new world of possibilities. There are historical sites like the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Arts and culture destinations including the Birmingham Museum of Art, multiple theaters and concert venues, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the Negro Southern League Museum. The city is a haven for live music of all kinds, hosts a ton of seasonal events and festivals, and is also home to the nation’s oldest and largest Veterans Day celebration each year.
Indeed, for the familiar comforts of small-town living but with big-city possibilities for fun and exploration, SummerHouse Grayson Valley makes a terrific home base. All the amenities, excitement and old-fashioned Southern hospitality of our native Birmingham are all the more reason why our community provides a perfect setting for living well and enjoying life here in the heart of Alabama.
